I think it's interesting that for Mr Mamdani, the core of democratic socialism is wealth inequality and not, say, worker ownership of the means of production. Inequality is also at the root of my own case for liberal socialism.

I'm a white man who grew up in a conservative Christian family in Oklahoma, got into the libertarian movement by way of first Ayn Rand then Rothbard-Rockwell style anarchocapitalism, before traversing the political landscape to woke liberal socialism.
