It WAS written by Putin. Same points, same lies since the invasions of Crimea and Donbas in 2014.

EV sales *still* have not fallen, cooled, slowed or slumped. Media is lying to you. After two years of headlines begging for failure, EV sales keep defying false media narratives that they are dropping, and continue to rise.

Headlines purposely misleading.

EV sales continue to grow globally.

ICE sales are down by approx. 25%from their peak in 2017, and show no signs of recovering.

It is exceedingly likely that 2017 will be the high-water mark of gas-powered cars ever sold on this planet.

Some times you think "That would be a great photo. Too bad I'm in such a hurry." Then you stop, turn around and take the shot after all. You never regret it.

It looks like oil and gas wrote the budget.

Oil and gas trumps climate action in brutal federal budget The budget makes clear that fossil fuel production for export is a central pillar of this governmentโ€™s economic strategy โ€” and that it wonโ€™t let climate measures get in the way.

Oil and gas trumps climate action in brutal federal budget.

Excellent climate analysis of today's federal budget from @hadrianmk.bsky.social...

I'm at a loss for words. Well almost:
Pathetic, abysmal and suicidal come to mind.

As the saying goes, Nature Bats Last, so nature will have its final say.
I, however, still have a political voice and a vote. These Liberals aren't likely to get mine again.
Fool me once, but never twice!

I was wrong on both accounts.
So far the Carney government has been an ecological disaster, closer to Ford and Trump than to Trudeau. I feel deceived and distraught. I am seeing an utter cave-in to everything oil and gas wants, while the climate crisis worsens by the day.

05.11.2025 14:09 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 2    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I voted Liberal because Mark Carney was the adult in the room who "got" the climate urgency.
I anticipated weak measures in yesterday's budget on climate & environment --owing to the global headwinds, regional politics in Canada and intense industry lobbying-- but something positive at least.

Absolutely. Whenever asked why I write and made documentaries, my answer was simple and consistent: "To change things. To make bad or mediocre things better."
Why else? Cause you like the sound of your own words? I think not.

It's telling that Gates is saying we should be focusing more on immediate threats to humans just as several billion such humans are being severely impacted by climate collapse.
Not those in large, air conditioned homes, with food delivery from anywhere in the world, though. You know, rich ones.

Well that rules out the Ukrainians who did so much to build his country and mine while still speaking their ethnic language at home. Oh, and the Germans, Italians, Greek, Portuguese, Polish, Dutch, Vietnamese, Koreans, Chinese and...

Did I miss the part where Frodo, Pippin and company switched over to Sauron's side?
"Let's just use the ring to crush people not like us. You know, those weird Elves and Dwarves!"
Samwise would have stood firm, though. He had backbone.

In todayโ€™s Vatnik Soup, weโ€™ll explain the context of the upcoming Budapest Blunder, and how it follows the infamous Alaska Fiasco from two months ago and Trumpโ€™s absurd delaying of serious aid to Ukraine and effective sanctions on Russia for the past nine months.

It all seems fine and good until, suddenly, you're the one getting stomped on by your grinning former partners in thuggery. Because fascism always turns on itself. Sometimes sooner, sometimes later. But always!

"Remember that time in 2019 when we were down to crawling through Rogers Pass?"
"He he he, of course I do. Bells were going ding, ding. Last gasp, but we made it to the charger. Boy did we drink then!"
"Good times!"
[voice from next field]
"Oh yeah, you should hear MY story!"
[general eye rolling]

Yes indeed. And I never once saw a cyclist fail to move over and allow an ambulance to pass. This red herring argument was used to opposed the "complete street" conversion of Ottawa's Main Street. "But how will emergency vehicles get by?" Answer: "Everybody moves over."

Freedom is for me, and not for you. That has always been the mantra of authoritarians, demagogues and fascists. Your speech is dangerous and seditious and must be suppressed.

Anti-fascism is terrorism.

Don't make this true.

Absolutely. And in her post, she is/was absolutely right. That is exactly what a certain extreme group of people began to do. So, yes, she hit the nail on the head. As usual. And Scheer is wrong, as usual.

How do I break it to my solar panels that after 12 years of consistent and faithful service, they are unreliable? I'm going to ask my old servants coal and gas to "please come home, all is forgiven."
Or maybe I'll laugh in the face of clue-less, bought-and-owned fossils like this guy.
