It's a great book! We've just used stories from this to teach a plug the gap lesson about life in the Third Reich to year 9. It really helped them to understand the complexity of the situation.

What a lovely way to end the term! I hope it proves to have been useful too, but showing that engaging with History can be enjoyable is also very valuable.

I taught this story on Thursday. Hats off to @benbassett.bsky.social and @petejackson.bsky.social for the work they've been doing. It was a very powerful moment in he classroom.

This was a really helpful blog, thanks for sharing. Helping trainees feel part of the school community is crucial. But I know I'm also grateful to tutors and mentors who helped me feel part of the wider History teaching community and I try to share that with begining teachers too.

It's a real privilege mentoring beginning teachers and helping them embark on their first steps as History teachers. So proud of @lydiawigley.bsky.social and all that she has achieved so far. And I love that we will meet again as part of the big History teaching community.
