At this point, they still kind of just take things with their gender day by day

So the realization that they were trans in some way happened early on, but the full understanding of their identity as nonbinary and agender (and how to feel comfortable within that) happened after many years of reflecting and exploring etc etc

When you factor in how the warrior of light has so many expectations, it's clear that their old habit of occupying a role or presentation for another person inhibited their growth. And how it tripped them up at times in being able to understand their own feelings.

Part of it has to do with their first family relationship being so much about fulfilling a role to appease another person, and that person feeling entitled to their gender and being. It took them a while to heal after that and eventually dig into what they actually felt and wanted for themself.

Later, when they had more words for their experience, they tried diving into presenting/embodying masc gender and that proved to be painful in a different way.

The moment khed'a realized they were trans is also a complicated answer bc it's like. they always sensed they were not the gender they were assigned and the dislocation of that.

They get top surgery after wanting it for many years in post endwalker because they finally feel able to make that decision freely and confidently.

Their relationship to their gender shifts over the main scenario since their arc is about reclaiming identity and embracing aunthenticity. The way gender factors into their experience of hw/stb/shb is a meaningful progression for me to think about.

khed'a's gender journey is a bit branching and winding. they chose their name upon being adopted and didnt really come out to their close ones until a bit later. They were on hormones for a brief time after Carteneau and before ARR.
