A narrow dirt path runs between two patches of unkempt grass. Across it, from left to right in the bright sun, trundles a very shiny little black snake, about 80cm long. Its neck is flattened in a mild threat display. Its stubby little tail can just be seen among the grassy bits on the left.

This morning’s visitor — well, resident, near the main house — is a young red-bellied black snake (Pseudechis porphyriacus). Look at it trying to be tough with its flattened neck all threatening lol. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red-bel...

Pink cockatoos at Kinchega National Park, New South Wales.

Against a sky of grey clouds and soft blue patches, a Sulphur-crested Cockatoo flares its pale yellow wings upward as it prepares to land on a TV antenna. A Pied Currawong sits stoically on a lower rung, looking away from the white bird’s dramatic, talons-out arrival.

3 white birds sitting upon a wire. These are Australian Little Corellas. They are mostly white, with a fleshy blue eye-ring and a pale rose-pink patch between the eye and bill. In flight, a bright sulphur-yellow wash can be seen on the underwing and under tail. The sexes are similar in plumage, and young birds look like the adults, but are slightly smaller. Behind this is an old church. The tree below them is filled with their friends who are slowing destroying said tree. Not a brilliant photo, and may not last long in my album of photos.

Don't have a backyard anymore. However the Corellas visited my street this morning. They are a sight to behold as they swoop here & there. These 3 made a racket outside my bedroom. Just checking in perhaps.

A big tadpole almost spans a child's hand, a smaller one with legs and a tail sits in the corner of the palm.

We've got so many pobblebonk (the big one) tadpoles, the dam looks like its bubbling at times as they surface for air. A few southern Brown tree frog (the small) tadpoles in the mix too.

Food, a place to rest and a view of the sea.

Rainbow lorikeet living the good life high above Sandon Point, NSW. 🪶

Brown lizard with lighter patterned skin and beautiful splayed out extremities showing the rounded pads at the end of its toes. It is quite small.

Cleaning out the garage ( must be insane 41 degrees) and found we had a marbled gecko as a tenant. Just look at those adorable suction pad hands and feet.
