Printed out the Alpha test 1.1 rules for "Tunnels & Trolls: A New Age" and my solo adventure "Buffalo Island."

I hope to do a conversion of the latter while playing through.

The best part of Tunnels & Trolls: A New Age?

Realising your character only has a helmet, stunting to use the horn as a handle, rolling exploding dice… then the exploding dice explode again, the chest is shattered, and you discover there’s nothing inside.

I'm writing a TTRPG that captures the sort of...breathless feeling of early RPGs, when we were all high on the possibilities of this new hobby. What classic TTRPGs should I read for inspiration? (I've already read a bunch but I want to make sure I didn't miss anything good.)

I unpacked a bunch of stuff in storage for almost a decade and found my original Tunnels and Trolls books. Aside from a bit of wear on the manual cover (fixed by 12-year old me with tape) they're still in perfect condition.

I wish they'd reissue the original D&D books with all the original art.

It's been good seeing the first reactions to Tunnels & Trolls A New Age alpha. General reception has been positive. Taking all of it on board. I've not been a part of something like this - bringing back a beloved game. It's incredibly intimidating
