And Stars Without Mine is $19 for the pdf or $70 for the hardcover?

I'm with you on the cost of the adventure doesn't slow me down. I'm going to host people for 4 hours, that's always going to be worth $10 or more. Tipping the pizza guy probably costs more.

I'm not familiar with enough rpgs to think of a free (not free sample or lite) that has a large library of adventures that sell for $10. Or anything like that.

If a publisher could make that work it would be like giving away razors and selling razor blades. It'd be great.

And sharing documents: pdfs, jpgs, etc.

I'd say the primary purpose is to share a map and die rolls. Anything beyond is gravy.

Great idea though, even if it didn't do any math

To encourage customers to buy $15 adventures for a ttrpg, charge $25 or more for the ttrpg.

If the ttrpg is only 75 pages but people are publishing adventures that are 150 pages of great content, then your ttrpg is worth a higher price.

I'm not saying pricing reflects the amount of work that goes into an adventure or ttrpg.

I'm saying that when people buy a budget thing, they expect the accessories to cost less than the thing. It's just a customer bias.

I'm sure there are exceptions but it's early and I can't think of any.

I think there's a reasonable expectation that published adventures will cost less than the ttrpg core rules.

And I think that low prices make it less profitable to publish adventures, and that reduces the number of published adventures.

If you price your new TTRPG at $10 for the pdf, then...

Are you setting the max price for adventure and setting content at $5?

Who wants to pay more for the adventure than for the game itself?

Will that max price motivate and sustain 3rd parties?

Oh, wait, I had the wrong weapon selected. One-click undo the roll, hit and damage calc, but could I keep the nat 20 i rolled but not the damage roll?

I *like* the idea of clicking on your target and the system calculating the hit and damage for you, but in reality players forget to do it half the time and now we're breaking the flow redoing it.

I spent about 4 hours updating a frigate map with line of sight, hatches that open and close, movement between decks, animated water, sounds and music that trigger, and then I thought:

I think that brings us back to the prices should be higher for ttrpgs, and I would be happy to pay more for the book and for related materials.

Why isn't the illustrator encouraged to sell it themselves?

It would be fine if the art book hits drivethrurpg at the same as the rpg book, even if one is sold by the book author and the other by the illustrator.

The text often flows around the monster, so a basic square screen capture will be cluttered. And sometimes it's on a background, which isn't ideal for a printing a mini.

These aren't hard problems with photoshop and basic skills, but it's still worth a little money to me not to have to do it.

Immediately became my favorite. After i saw it, I rounded up the family and we went to see it in black and white. Somehow it's even better.

It doesn't have to be free.

The bestiary part of the book will have something cool and I want to print a mini, add it to a reference card, and maybe print it large for my gm screen.

It's easily worth $5+ so I don't have to extract and crop all of them.

I'm not a creator, but this feels right to me.

$15–20 for a pdf with light rules and a one shot adventure. I can sample at that price.

$5–10 for an adventure, more for an entire setting.

BUT DAMMIT make the character art available for minis and cards. It's digital, you can do this.
