Les Feuilles Mortes | Autumn Leaves 2025
YouTube video by Paul Kleiman Les Feuilles Mortes | Autumn Leaves 2025

Years ago, I was footling around on the piano after a conference dinner when someone asked if I could play her favourite tune Autumn Leaves. I couldn't but went home & learnt it. Now, every year, I record it and send it to her. So, @profsallybrown.bsky.social this is for you x

I agree with Geldof that what is happening is horrific and unconscionable. But he makes the usual error of conflating the actions of the appalling Netanyahu government with the β€˜Israeli people’. Some no doubt support him, but some don’t. We don’t think that Trump represents the American people?

From the wonderful AHE conference in Manchester to A&E in Truro.
(Don’t ask…..well, if you insist, three cracked ribs from a bad fall).
Heigh ho.

I’d love to train everywhere but I live in Cornwall and have some work in Edinburgh. 535 miles.
Choices:
1: Train. 10 hours, 1 change, unreliable service, c.Β£300 return
2: Fly: 1hr 30 min. Reliable service (to date). Β£80-Β£140 return.

No brainer, I’m afraid.

A brush, with silence and solitude I really enjoy painting. Not the sort of thing one might frame and hang on a wall, but the actual walls one might hang them on. The larger the better. And I’m trying to work out why I like it…

I introduced week long performance modules at LIPA back in the 1990s. We scheduled in a few research/prep sessions in the weeks leading up to it which made a huge difference.
