I read 186 books in the first six months of this year. In today's essay (link below) I explain how I did it, and how you can rekindle your love of reading and become a voracious reader in an age of distraction.

You guys are in for such a treat! They’re always engaged with their audience, and you can tell they really enjoy being there. I saw them once in Chicago and once in Madison when they came to my state for the first time✨

Honorable mentions are any albums by Fall Out Boy, The Cure, Aurora, or Yanni (but primarily his 80’s/90’s albums.) These are artists whose work is consistently great, I feel.

What are 4 albums that would serve as an introduction to your music taste?

This is by no stretch an exhaustive show of my eclectic taste, but I more so chose based on which albums would be intriguing from the start; ones that may compel a listener to continue. These are all full of imagination!

I’ve been to two of their concerts and they’re just as wonderful, live. Been listening to them for almost ten years (can’t believe I’m saying that!)

This helps explain how rich kids/nepo babies get offended when they are told they didn't earn their spot. It's not that they're delusional, they did throw the darts. They're just oblivious of the other factors...how many extra throws they got, how much closer to dart board they stood, etc.

I’m playing a downright bastardous Samurai build right now which has allowed me to make decent progress. Finished Stormveil Castle and a bunch of smaller bosses along with some dungeons. Slowly but surely working my way toward a level where I’m comfortable returning to The Academy of Raya Lucaria!

I still have a very negative opinion regarding some of FromSoftware’s design philosophies, but Elden Ring itself is so deeply enchanting I just *have* to try. Aesthetically, it’s everything I want in a fantasy world. I may always be terrible at the mechanics, but I love what I *can* get from it.

Ironically, to combat The Horrors™️, I’ve recently taken up playing Elden Ring! My phone is a shrine to a zillion guidance tabs, but I’m enjoying myself. I tried it years ago upon release and just couldn’t get into it, but I now have a better understanding of what it’s asking of me as a player

Haha yeahhh… I got an email stating that my electric bill has gone up $40. I now have a triple-digit electric bill while I’ve been doing everything in my power to keep my power use at a minimum. I even unplug appliances and lighting when it’s not in use.
Christ’s sake.

I hate to say “skill issue” about poor engagement, but it kind of is? BSky is far more hospitable than other social media because the algorithm isn’t wack! Tagging actually works, and… you kinda have to give engagement in order to get it. That’s critical, and they just don’t understand that😅

The predatory nature of algorithms is so painfully blatant it’s not even funny. I know that “you are not immune to propaganda” is kind of a punchline now, but it’s true! Ultimately, the primary function of that echo chamber is when it’s legislated … And that’s unfortunately where we’re at, now😥
