I have been lucky in life to be loved by not one but two tuxedo cats. They’re both gone now. I miss them dearly. Was thinking about them while testing a new vintage nib (F. soennecken 606 EF). Way too flexy for my taste but wow can it really get EXTRA fine lines.

The greatest irony of artists being considered "petit bourgeois" is that it was a label applied to us by people who felt entitled to our labour without giving us *any* compensation

"The one thing I need to do today" represented by a single Tetris block that needs to drop into a very obvious gap at 9am; at 5pm it's evident that single block has been very badly dropped into the wrong spot.

Sigh.

Also a hard lesson I had to learn when gardening: when buying plants from greenhouses more often than not they are borderline if not already outgrowing their pots and the root system is all balled up and needs to be “broken”, untangling a large chunk so they can spread out properly when in soil!

A quick Art tip: don’t underestimate the power of redrawing the whole thing again. If a drawing doesn’t feel right then start over.

Now.. if Disney says “stop” to you, you say “yessir immediately” and hope to escape w/ your life. MJ instead shrugged its shoulders while still making money off their infringement via their subscription models, so here comes the disney lawyer army.

Granted, fanworks are truly fully depends on the good graces of the IP holders and should the winds shift (think Anne Rice), fans usually tend to immediately cease & desist, but IP holders tend to look the other way so long as no one is benefiting financially from fanwork they make.

Fanfic walks a thin line. There’s a “clause” (section?? Idk im not a lawyer) of US copyright law that allows for satirical and/or transformative work and Fair Use for such purpose, whereas the mouse and universal are arguing here that midjourney is creating derivative COPIES. The language matters.
