Connections, a BBC -> PBS television show, and my childhood. Along with other shows like Nova and Frontline, these were my windows into the wider world. As with the computer, the world is infused with systems. We use tech to explore and manipulate these systems. What we create is core to humanity.

:) It had a slightly dirty sound for a digital synthesizer, analog-ish but stable. Like with the computer, there was a huge world to explore in programming patches.

My CZ-101 was stolen in the late 90's. In the 2000s, I bought a CZ-1 with hopes of coding a PD VSTi.

The Casio CZ-101, my first serious synthesizer. Purchased used in the late 80s, it used phase distortion synthesis to get around Yamaha's patent on frequency modulation synthesis. An early budget MIDI instrument which allowed for song sequencing on my Amiga.
