I read in an advert here for an academic-support office that the role would be "customer facing" and was left wondering who the customers would be and what exactly we were selling. I also discovered the phrase "product owner" in a different role descriptor, and felt a little sick.

"Strategic" has become one of those words you say when you have nothing real or useful to say.

Maybe the long-term plan us to join them up and make a moat.
