Oh man, that is the worst news. The first time I visited to Portland, we went to Upright, Cascade, Hair of the Dog, and Commons. They were all excellent, and Upright was the last one standing. I’m glad you were inspired by them - BC beer drinkers have certainly benefited.

God damn, I’m envious of all of these stories. I saw them several times, but always in bigger venues.
Early in my time at UBC, they did four nights at the Commodore. I was fourth in line at the ticketmaster window, all four shows were sold out by the third person.
