The people of Minnesota have executed one of the most impressive civil resistance campaigns I can remember:

- Organized a city wide general strike
- Maintained nonviolent discipline amidst violence
- Mobilized 10,000s in subzero temps to protest and watch ICE
- Flipped public opinion against ICE

This is one of those stories that is a bigger deal than it seems.

“If you didn’t want to be shot, don’t stand where I point my gun,” is their reasoning.

DHS will quite literally shoot you in the face and then assert they are the victim.

Even if she didn’t, it needed to be confirmed.

These are war criminals.

This woman gives me hope 🥹

JFC, I can’t get my TWO kids out the door and into a car solo in anything less than an hour.

Clearly every parent in this admin is an absentee parent or they’d know this.

I read a source saying the dad had in fact told ICE he wanted to leave with his kids for their safety, got an OK from them, then got attacked.

With great power comes no responsibility… apparently. 😮‍💨

I mean… I wouldn’t mind a little French Revolution style justice when it’s over.

But I’ll settle for better media laws, upending the Citizen’s United decision, and Pete Hegseth on trial for war crimes. But not an inch less than that.

FWIW, I feel Minnesotans are winning right now. Not in a way that feel like winning… but in ways that truly matter. Winning the world’s heart and alienating ICE and Trump’s administration.

Keep it up y’all. And everyone in the states ought to. Stock their pantries & connect with their community.

It’s telling that they don’t want an investigation nor will they release photos or a doctor’s report.

If there was actual evidence that would help exonerate him in the slightest way, believe me they’d put it up on Twitter in a heartbeat.

Honestly, I don’t even buy that. I think he simply said he had a bruise.

The telling thing is that a medical report or photo would clear up the matter very quickly and they don’t seem to want to release one.

If there was an independent investigation, those investigators could have records on medical care received—doctor’s notes and photos of the injury.

They don’t want that to happen, because they’d rather you just take their word for it.

Nah. You’re looking for logic but he doesn’t do logic.

He fears discomfort. He has a gift for reading & putting people at ease. He won’t push uncomfortable topics. It leads to authentic convos, but the savvy use it to string him along.

He’s looking around, reading the room, & feeling uncomfortable

I don’t think his thought process is deeper than following what feels popular with his audience.

That his message is changing may not reflect his morals but it’s for sure a good sign that popular sentiment has shifted sharply.

Note: I reject the label radical.

Being angry that our rights are being violated is normal as hell. We’ve a long tradition of being anti-authoritarian & anti-fascist.

Rancher, bishop, vet, lawyer, cheerleader, skater? You can be angry, loud, & cool AF.

Radical injustice wakes normal people up.

Being angry that our rights are being violated is normal as hell. We’ve a long tradition of being anti-authoritarian and anti-fascist.

Rancher, bishop, retired vet, lawyer, cheerleader or skater? You can be angry, loud, and cool AF.

Our actions are driven by our in-groups. If we identify as “a mom”, we may be angry, but if other moms aren’t engaged we sit back. We keep quiet.

Then a trigger happens that pushes 10% of moms to be vocal. Others see and feel more safe to join. Soon more follow.

Whenever I feel that drag to create, I try to reflect on where it’s coming from. And yeah, the news can hit hard. 😮‍💨

But there’s always something and the making of art itself is never the problem (and I think part of the cure).

Voting for democrats is necessary but it doesn’t move us forward. It only keeps us from sliding backwards.

The left needs to also get its own “tea party” into play and start shaping the policy.

Literally NONE of the GOP’s policies have popular support, but they still manage to get them done. 🤷‍♂️
