I would have a lot more sympathy for Starmer if he didn’t create so many problems for himself. Let asylum seekers work so they can support themselves. Rejoin the single market to get growth up and inflation down. Do these things or don’t come begging for a pity vote in four years time.

Having gone through very rough times too (bizarrely I ended up **in** the UK with my young family 10 years ago, also escaping poverty) it's undeniable that nothing can be seen the same way after that. It's ever present how close we always are from being left out, with nothing... and with no choices.

Trump has halted or dropped enforcement actions against 160+ corporations, including:

-42 consumer protection cases at CFPB
-20 foreign bribery cases at DOJ
-6 employment discrimination cases at EEOC
-7 crypto cases at SEC

It's a new golden age for corporate criminals.
