Is anyone else slightly and I mean SLIGHTLY annoyed with timing of the announcement of the next Mummy movie (The brendan Fraser classic) and Lee Cronin's The Mummy trailer?

I mean COME ON! I really thought they ruined the mummy franchise by making it into a horror film!!!!

Mike Iganamort calling acronyms radical is odd when his party brands itself with one. Policy debates also revolve around CRT, DEI, ICE, and the NRA. Acronyms are shorthand; pretending otherwise is poor political theater. I wish he would speak clearly and tell us why he opposes the F.U.C.K.I.C.E act?

I love this movie and I love the book. Ruther Hauer is still the best actor in this movie. 10/10 performance and I get chills every time I watch it.

I am interested in seeing someone more in tune with the classics read my book. I want to know if Twain, Hemingway or Melville would even like my book let alone give it any attention if they were still alive today. I would hope, in some regard that they would have mixed feelings at the very least.

There is something about reading books written by authors who have passed. Your eyes are treading on ground that was laid by someone who came and went. I feel this deep respect when I read Adams or Lems or Dick or Rawls. Reading the words of others long gone is an exercise in trepidation and grace.

I want to take a moment to appreciate last week’s box office numbers. An independent film with virtually no marketing grossed about $21.5–$21.7 million worldwide, barely trailing a Disney/20th Century Fox release. Independent creative works are alive and thriving.
