so here's Caroline
Picking an option on the battle menu is now functional. It'll hide the other options and open submenu for it.
You can choose between using the regular confirm/cancel buttons on the submenu, or to use the same button to confirm and all others cancel, much like a certain classic game...
Page 1 of a reference document for the character Caroline. This one has a turnaround of her in her regular clothes and underwear, closeups of her gloves and skirt, and some general info.
Page 2 of the same reference document. This one is all about Caroline's Aether Pistol and her other abilities, plus the Tome of Reason, an important plot-relevant book she owns.
Page 3 of the same document. This one shows off Caroline's winged form, and has a blurb explaining what the deal with that form is.
Page 4 of the same document, focused on alternate outfits - showcasing four in particular: bunny suit, casual, "office chic", and tennis outfit. It also has a blurb about Caroline's younger look from her days at the Academy.
I decided to update Caroline's ref sheet in time for Art Fight. There's some extra details that weren't around the first time, plus I added a fourth page focusing on alternate outfits (which I didn't do at first because I was pressed for time)

Do note this footage has a couple bugs regarding the time gauges when a battle starts. Also, enemies don't have behaviors yet, a lot of the graphics are placeholders, etc.

Whenever a character takes a step, their Time Gauge lowers by a certain amount, and their turn ends when the bar empties out. You need to pick an action before that happens!
To run away from battle, simply walk attempt to walk out of the battle arena until it works.
Battles start when an enemy touches the party leader. The map has predetermined battle regions, and all enemies within that region will become your opponents. Characters become active when their Time Gauge fills up, and the player is able to switch between active characters.

It's a rather unique battle system that uses positioning but has a real time component. Even though I've explained it before and posted mockups it seems people still have a hard time visualizing it, so hopefully when there's real footage of it it'll click

You may have seen @qwarq.io 's input plugin I shared yesterday. Here's a look at how it is implemented in BELOW HEAVEN specifically. You have the ability to pick between four separate presets for the appearance of your controller buttons - go with what feels intuitive for you!

If by custom binding you can add a custom function that can be called aside from the default MZ ones, yes
I don't understand why it would conflict with other plugins, since it overwrites the default input system
I wanted BELOW HEAVEN to have a more robust system for button remapping than what RPG Maker offers, so I commissioned qwarq to make this. I'm pretty happy with it, and hopefully this will allow better accessibility for other games made with the engine
