There is a woman who was once human. Her body takes the vague shape of a cnidarian, evocative of an anemone or a hydra. She sports five legs that support a miss-shapen, tapering body, which has five arms. Three of these arms are small and spindly, one sports extraneous amounts of skin, and the last is huge and has the vague shape of a feminine torso with a crown of bony fingers atop its head-palm. Atop this body rest five thick, fleshy petals, not unlike the open rind of a citrus fruit, and at their center lies a normally proportioned, bare, feminine human torso and abdomen. Of note, however, is that the torso's neck extends into yet another long, spindly arm that ends in a clawed hand, which holds the woman's head. Dr. Cidra Mancinell, the transformed woman in question, grins hungrily at the viewer. She proudly wears a collar on her arm-neck, and nothing else.

Group chat this morning has me thinking about the way Bethesda games have Bandits and Raiders as a naturally occurring, spreading organism, like a mold or a moss, or rabbits, instead of feeling like people with any sort of context or connection to the world they live in.

There's no connection to anything! There's no thought to it other than the vaguest "some people have to / want to enact violence to survive"! Bandit is what you get if you don't clean out your caves & tombs often enough.
