Keep trying! I run a SFF book club at our library. It is a roll of the dice. Sometimes, I get a group that is interested and the discussion is excellent, sometimes, I get no one.
But I always have snacks!!!

I had to go out of state for a week. I had the Earthseed duology checked out from Libby. Last day I read it, was Sunday, because I was traveling Monday and Tuesday. When I opened up Libby on Wednesday, it told me my book had been returned early that day. WTF? It absolutely couldn't have been me.

(2) The switch has multiple games that cannot be accesses anywhere else. It also has the benefit of being appropriate for groups, grandma, grandpa, and then yourself, when you start playing things like BoTW, ToTK, etc. Portable, but easy to switch to big screen. And I have a PS5 and xbox as well.

I also game on pc, however, I started out on consoles, loooonnnggg ago. 😜 In my opinion, if you are going to add a console, let it be the Switch.
Hear me out. Most of the console games are also available on PC. Never play a game on console that you could play on pc. (1)

I've started listening to The Downloaded, with Brendan Fraser. I'm not usually much for audio books, but this has my attention!

I love that! I can only do audio books if it's something I already read. Otherwise I just end up rewinding to catch stuff more then I go forward lol.

I might DNF a series, but I learned a long time ago to go back later and try it again. One of my favorite series was Red Rising, yet when I first started it, it just did nothing for me. I went back a year or so later, and got sucked in right away.

heh, my description of Red Sister to my book club was murderous ninja nuns... they all enjoyed it!

I really enjoyed it. But not moving to the second one yet, reading one by Emily Tesh in the meantime.
My favorites so far with Mark Lawrence have been Prince of Fools, and Red Sister.

Just finished The Book That Wouldn't Burn- loved it, but before I head to the next in the series, I'm doing Some Desperate Glory by Emily Tesh, based on a rec from here!

Not actually. Traditionally, and book club all reads the same book, and then discuss that book afterwards.

Sitting here, thinking about the "echo chamber" comments. Them peeps be like your toxic gaslighting family you went NC with. Why bother having conversations when facts are dismissed as "fake news"

Life is short. Write that novel. Paint that painting. Try new recipes. Learn black magic. Go into the forest at night. Summon a demon. Earn that demon's trust. Become best friends with it. Brag to everyone else about your new cool demon best friend. Knit that sweater.

Couple hundred hours into ToTK, and that is my fate. Poor Zelda. I have abandoned her completely.
