Hi! I'm Steve, the self-dubbed Dragon Writer. Sadly, I’m not a dragon rider, but you already knew that if you’re reading this, not listening to it. I'm a homebrew game master and writer of both software and fantasy fiction. More of the latter here.

You do not need AI to write for free. If you can view this ad, you can write for free. I am glad to help however I can. But please, have enough self-respect to tell the story you want to tell in the way you want to tell it. Become a writer, not a prompt crafter. #WritingCommunity #booksky

Love me a good book or some theater-of-the-mind DnD.

Who needs a picture when you have a thousand words? #writesky #dnd

“Those b*******!” Po pounded his fist on his knee. “Did you find them yet? Get vengeance?”

“Not yet.” Anzan appreciated Po's fiery intensity, despite it being a rather juvenile display.

“I stuck around the temple long enough to bury my brethren – a week or so – and left shortly afterwards. As the sole survivor, I couldn’t bear to stay any longer.” Anzan leaned forward and rested his elbows on his knees, and pointed a finger at the Storm brothers. “I was only travelling for a week before I met you two.”

A cheeky twist on today’s word of the day “storm.” It happens to be the last name of two sibling protagonists.

In this snip, the bounty hunters find themselves in a crypt as they chase their quarry, so lots of bones, bone crunching, boney creatures, boney vibes… you name it, we’ve got your word of the day “bones”.

I may be no baker or barrister, but this homemade venti salted caramel economic blackout latte and box-mix muffin have the sweet taste of crushing the patriarchy.

It's too cold to go out anyways. Unless to protest, of course.

The few have many means to create a shock wave that shakes millions of people.

Millions of people have few means, and create vibrations too soft to be felt. But a million vibrations at once creates a shock wave that shakes the few.

Using two recent words of the day (Webster's) as an example, take “notorious” and “vendetta” and relate them to your current work. What does it inspire you to create?

Got writer's block on an upcoming scene or big encounter?

Using a dictionary or other word of the day app, I like to check the previous two days’ words and force myself to incorporate them into my work. Even if you end up abandoning the words, it really starts the creative juices flowing!

Kiraman wrested his bracers off and tossed them on the ground next to his helmet with a clatter. He rubbed his wrists to dry the film of sweat that had formed underneath the armor. When at last he had tediously removed his chest plate, what was left was his sweat-stained white shirt and armored leggings. He relaxed his whole body at once and crashed to the ground, then gently laid his head on the metal chest piece.

Kiraman stared up at the bright blue midday sky and watched clouds go by. He could see mountain peaks poking out between the rooftops in his peripheral vision. Something about the view reminded him of his hometown, Ortvist, and he wanted to freeze in this moment.

It was the first time since he left home a week prior that he had thought of Ortvist, and it was his first time feeling homesick. He had never been more than a few miles from his house before. Now, an entire mountain range separated him and everything he had ever known. His mind wandered with thoughts of what his family, friends, and mentor might be doing on their side of the mountains at this very moment.

After a gruelling battle, homebody Kiraman is starting to regret his decisions. Word of the day "home"

First post is a new year's resolution to start posting in 2026. If you're reading this later and you've scrolled to the end of my posts, then you know exactly how well that has or hasn't gone so far. Moreover, thanks for making it this far!
