Thanks for the information, I was misled by my old moth field guide, which seemed to indicate it was to be seen in August. More reading got me there in the end.
Cheers Terry.
I'm not sure what this moth is.
Any help is much appreciated.

The Hawkmoth, which came into my trap a couple of days ago, is still here. Not sure if I should be charging rent!!
Fell out today, managed to pick it up, and put it back safely.

Visited Hauxley NNR today, at least 7 Avocet seen.
Chatted to the team about nesting. This photo seems to show possible nesting. Let's wait and see.

Any ideas who this beetle is, in my summer house in Northumberland.
Hello Tom, Sorry for not thanking you earlier for your advice. I think I will have to buy an mv bulb.
A few years ago, the owner of the land around me cut down the woodland, although there is regeneration moth numbers have reduced.
Positive thinking is needed.
Cheers, Terry.
Two Deer watching me watching them, possibly!!!!.
Might be poor photo's but 'Magic moments on Mull'.

I'm struggling to charm Moths into my trap at the moment this year. Any advice on what ordinary light to use in my trap?
02.05.2025 18:36 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Fairly confident!! this is a Shoulder Stripe in my trap a couple of days ago.
Struggling to get moths in, I don't want to use a specialist bulb, can you recommend any ordinary bulb.

Would you believe I have a photo in my old records.
Must try harder !!!!!
Cheers Terry.
A couple of years ago, coming from Treshnish, Dervaig to Salen, 07:00, a Pine Marten popped out in front of me. It sussed us out, moved off the road then came back out for another look.
Magical moment.
Came back last year, no way was it going to happen again.
Back again soon, fingers crossed.
Struggling a bit with this, sure it's common. Help please.
Need to get back into my Field Guide!!!

Saw 3 birds flying by, I'm sure you were out to ID them!!!
Here in Helmsley, this afternoon heard Willow Warbler, my first this year, hope to hear them soon at home.
Have a good year on May, looking forward to details of your sightings.
Cheers Terry
