I don't doubt that, Linda, it's good and I should have said that in my reply!
My father fought in WW2 along with his generation, but taught me tolerance. Strangely he didn't teach me how to react to extremism. Perhaps he hoped the battle was won.

Hate is a problematic word. Intense dislike is fine, but hate also implies hostility which can be good or bad, depending on where it is directed and what actions it leads to. But yes, strong feelings are good, apathy is evil's ally.

Close up of three gannets gliding towards the camera, wings outstretched, one above another. Only the one in the centre (farthest away) is in sharp focus. There is a blurred background of sea and distant coast.

A close-up of a dark green fritillary butterfly perched on the small, reddish flower buds of a rush. The butterfly's wings are patterned with orange, black, and white spots, and are lit warmly by sunlight. Its large, dark eyes and long, thin antennae with black and orange tips are clearly visible. The background is a soft blur of patterned green.

This butterfly proved elusive for several days, giving me fleeting glimpses and then disappearing. Finally yesterday it stayed around long enough for me to get some shots.
