ps. Congo was born in 1954. He learned to draw near the age of two, when zoologist Desmond Morris offered him a pencil and some paper. Morris soon observed that "Congo would draw circles, and had a basic sense of composition. He also showed symmetrical consistency."

The Art Nouveau Dancer Loie Fuller, who inspired many artists of the age. Her performances used specially created light effects to illuminate her billowing costumes (see the next post on the thread).

In many ways, the Hirshoshima Panels by Iri and Toshi Maruki are the Japanese equivalent of Picasso's "Guernica". There are 15 of them, each measuring 1.8m x 7.2m. Housed in their own gallery, they're an anti-war statement showing the human tragedy of nuclear weapons and nuclear testing

I tend to think of "mankind" as hu-man-kind rather than just men. But whatever .... 🤷‍♀️

This is having a massive effect on the conference sector. USA is being avoided as an event location now because participants won't travel there. Also, many American experts aren't attending conferences outside the USA anymore, because they're afraid they won't be let back in when they return home.

I really hope this score works. The film deserves it. I've watched the film quite a few times, and the only time the score worked for me was in the old edited version with the classical music. I've found most of the new scores to be detached from the emotions of the drama.

Yes. It was sadly par for the course. 😒 I recently worked on a project about the groundbreaking "modern art" exhibition in Lucerne in 1935. So many female artists were ignored at the time. Thankfully, they've been posthumously included in this year's "reconstruction" of the exhibition.
