If you worked for 18F and got fired, Group together to start a consulting company.

It’s just a matter of time before DOGE needs you to fix the mess they inevitably create.

They will have to hire your company as a contractor to fix it. But on your terms.

I’m happy to invest and/or help

I am a USAID Foreign Service Officer posted to Kinshasa, Democratic
Republic of Congo, where I have served since 2023. My portfolio focuses on
establishing conflict-free supply chains of critical minerals from the DRC to
the U.S. The overarching objective of my role is to strengthen the supply chain
of DRC’s vast critical minerals sector to the U.S. Much of my job is establishing
relationships with Government of DRC officials and informing them of the
benefits partnerships with the U.S. offer. Over 70% of the world’s cobalt is
produced in the DRC, which is almost entirely shipped to China. My job was to
help reduce the country’s dependence through increased trade with the U.S. As part of this, I was a lead coordinator for the U.S.’s support to developing the
Lobito Corridor railway, which, if fully developed, will substantially decrease
the time to ship minerals from DRC to the U.S. It is a project that has already
received $500M in support from the U.S. DFC.

This one describes the counter-Chinese focus of the Congo mission -- in part to push back on Chinese access to Cobalt.

As several others did, it describes the gut punch of Trump and Elon calling them criminals.

How much Elon Musk makes from the government a day: $8 million.

How much a senior on Social Security gets a day: $65

Guess which budget Musk and Trump want to cut?

Dear Joe,

I know it feels really wrong to order your AG to release a Special Counsel report because that’s been a bad thing to do for so long. But the Supreme Court says it’s okay now. It’s legal. It’s an official act.

So go ahead, Mr. President. It’s normal now.

To honor one of the most compassionate Americans we've ever known, consider an act of kindness today, for a loved one or even a stranger, however small.

Be the reason someone feels seen today. Sometimes all it takes is a kind word or a sincere gesture.

It will make Jimmy smile.

I watched the most excellent movie, A Complete Unknown, yesterday. 5⭐️s. Got me thinking we could use a strong musical protest "movement" about now; Dylans and Marleys and Guthries and Seegers. Who's up to the challenge?

Here’s some cool stuff you can do with Bluesky It’s not just an Alf pics repository.

I learned some stuff about Bluesky I did not know by reading this.

Maybe worth passing it on to others so we can all start getting the full benefit of the πŸ¦‹.

It was a 49% to 48% election.

Fascism won by a hair.

And it took Russian and MAGA bomb threats, a hoax regarding battleground-state police raids, an illegal Musk-funded lottery, $600M given to Trump by just 15 people, Netanyahu meddling in our politics, and Democrats staying home for it to happen.
