Got back last night from focus groups this weekend in Beverley, Hull,Scunthorpe & Peterborough and without doubt the disillusionment was the worst I’ve heard, in every group it was anger; despondency or misery about the state of Britain that doesn’t feel sustainable.

I think there’s so many variables. What’s fascinating is so much energy is going into discussing what a prospective Reform government might look like, when there’ll be a different answer to that on a month by month basis for 4 years! Better imo discussing the cricket with one’s Reform-backing buds…

At the very, very least - Reform is multifarious and fissiparous. In no way are those 230 MPs going to work as a bloc, unless the party changes radically into something else (very possible)

The relative lack of scrutiny of Lib Dems nationally by ‘red meat’ media, and permanent silly season indulgence of Davey’s antics by media in general seems astonishing in the light of this! On the other hand, savvy strategy by Davey and his team

How much worse or better is it getting? Which organisations are doing the best civics and personal finance education that would address these gaps? Which MPs are championing the issue?
