Kachi!!!! This is so beautiful!!!! These colors are incredible!

The show basically rehashes some of the major plot points of first game in new ways. I don’t really mind changing so much in the adaptation, but I do wish they better captured what makes Kiryu so charming! New eps are still dropping so maybe that’s still ahead, even in this serious drama. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The substories really help to balance the seriousness of the main plot in that game! Also to give Kiryu more personality than generic stoic video game tough guy. Show kinda suffers from less opportunities to make you care about Kiryu. He’s tough but also kind, gullible and incredibly open minded!

Yumi feels much more like the series’s actual protag. Love that for u queen. She deserves it.

Amazon Kiryu needs to bring a chicken into the Dojima family for him to feel like the dumbass we know and love so much

imo the yakuza Amazon show is more or less okay but needs at least one dumb substory to feel a little emotionally connected to the source material
