Probably fossil fuel industry propaganda. Because that’s where all the propaganda money is.

Thanks. I copied the text and links to Notes on my phone so I’ve got access to it even if the Orange Fascist’s goons take it down.

Not much interested in Christmas trees (invasive species where I live) but my family like them. This year we got one you can return and borrow again next year. It wasn’t delivered by bike unfortunately.

Not under a Trump administration. Conservatives and fascists hate urbanism with a passion.

The Biden pardon really only highlights the hypocrisy and corruption of the Trump regime. After all, it was them made it a viable action.

Denialists desperately don’t want the science to mean anything to them. It causes them cognitive dissonance. That’s why they squirm so hard when confronted with it. They know they have none of that thing they’ve been told all their lives defines and explains the world. They will grasp pseudoscience

Yeah, I’d absolutely choose that option if it were possible. Unfortunately $10 billion wouldn’t even make a mark on surface. That’s about three days of oil industry profit. They’ve been doing that much worths damage every three days for the last fifty years. Might fix three days worth of emissions.

You don’t seem to understand that wiping out 75% to 95% of all species on the planet is not really a reasons thing for us to be blasΓ© about. We are currently causing an equivalent extinction event to that of the extinction of the non avian dinosaurs and everything else that went with them.

All I see are people unwilling to engage with the long term details of climate change. We have already locked in major impacts for thousands of years at the very least that we have barely seen the onset of. That is absolutely certain. CO2 will be above 280ppm for thousands of years. Inevitable now.

4.7 billion years? So what? It’s about how it affects the planet and us right now. The past is only relevant in terms of what it can tell us about what to expect. It’s the future we will have to live in. Or die in. And a detailed look at past climate change tells us that future is NOT GOOD.

20.11.2024 22:15 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

That’s not rational. Of course destructive billionaires should be held accountable. But climate change is happening whether that is done or not. Being unable to do that doesn’t MAKE it a hoax. And it is going to MOST affect us peons first and worst.

The climate NEVER changes as rapidly as it is now. The closest to this is during the 3rd, 4th and 5th major mass extinctions. 1.5 million years at the normal, average background rate locked in by just the last fifty years. This will be the sixth major mass extinction in that 4.7 billion years.

The detailed reality of what we can expect as long term outcomes of the climate change we have already locked in are far scarier than that image. The extinction of 75% to 95% of all species. The collapse of our current civilisation with billions of human deaths. A gaping scar in the fossil record.
