Instead we spent a generation focused on the high-value and gripping content that comes from live coverage and victim interviews. We focused too much on the creative aspect of the craft, instead of what the community needs.

It feels like if, for the past decade, media had covered more of the fallout of disasters, such as the insurance crises in states like CA and FLA, citizens would be more empowered to help themselves after a disaster. I've only seen stories about insurance issues in the last 2-3 years in the media.
