Yeah I love the depiction of polyamory in this show, like it’s def not perfect but it’s at least representation lol. I especially love that he mentions that when he’s away from his polycule he even misses the other husbands

I’m halfway through Star Trek Enterprise and I weirdly think Phlox is my favorite character so far. He’s such a chill and happy guy and is very calm under pressure, so when he gets serious it feels REALLY serious.

I really hate this I think. The more I think about it the madder I get. A Halo 1 remake (when we already have a perfectly good one) that doesn’t have multiplayer and is on PlayStation seems so incorrect. Idk why they didn’t just port Master Chief Collection to PS5 if that’s what they wanted to do

One of my favorite things in Star Trek is that Pulaski & Barclay are given so much crap for being afraid of using the transporter, when there are countless transporter mishaps. Hoshi Sato becoming intangible, the evil Kirk clone, the poor souls turned to goo in the Motion Picture, Thomas Riker, etc

Sorry for the rant I’m just so fucking annoyed and confused at what the show was trying to do and what’s going to happen next. I fear we’re about to enter Wilderness Era 2 soon

And poor Belinda gets like 2 episodes where she stands on her own as a companion and never gets to capitalize on the excellent start her relationship with the Doctor had in episode 1. Just incredibly dumb ideas all around, the acting and effects were good for the most part but the plot made me mad

The characters suffer because they second they get any sort of development, a Glup Shitto from 40 years ago comes along to put any character arcs they had going to a stop. Ruby ends up being around in Season 2 for no good reason other than not knowing what to do with her after she left the Doctor

Doing that does nothing but disservice to everyone involved. The audience has to do extra homework to remember villains who appeared maybe twice over the course of the Classic era and then haven’t appeared since

Then they go and do it AGAIN w/ the Rani(s) & “Omega” at the end of season 2. I think RTD panicked since Disney hadn’t expanded the deal past 2 seasons so he crammed everything he wanted to do over the course of the era into Season 2. Billie Piper being there is so stupid I can’t even get into that

For example: most of Season 1 were fresh and original stories that had little to nothing to do with anything from previous eras. Then they jam Sutekh in at the last second and barely do anything to set him up, so even fans of NuWho like me who thought they knew a fair bit are left confused

I truly do not understand the point of trying to pull in new audiences with a fresh take on the Doctor and a brand new coat of paint on everything, but still trying to pander to longtime fans at the same time. It’s a risky trick that RTD managed to pull off once, but doing it again was pointless

Finally caught up with Doctor Who yesterday and all I can say is it’s looking dire out here. Feels like no one got what they wanted out of this season; it’s a shame because 15’s era had so much potential just to get cut short and end on such a whimper. Haven’t been this upset since Eccleston left🧵⬇️
