Behind the wall, a bright pink tree grows upwards towards a bright white sky. The image appears very structured/clear at the bottom/foreground, and grows more fanciful towards the top/far edge.
missed this one on my first edit pass through my last set of photos, glad I gave them another look

Along the outside edges, tall windows have a reflection of a tree with orange leaves, a street sign, and a traffic light. The reflection is in a different orientation on each edge. Along the inside, a shorter pair of windows reflect a smooth progression of various shades of orange.

12.03.2025 00:48 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0PSA: if Discord enabled their new game overlay for you, make sure you turn it off (use the legacy one or not at all).
I can't believe they got all the way through developing and shipping this implementation, but it is a bad idea, and will increase your input/graphics latency in any borderless game
Once the overlay displays UI it seems to keep the window over the game unless it is turned off in the Discord settings, and therefore will keep the game in the higher latency display mode.
If you've noticed higher input latency, worse framepacing, etc. lately, this could very well be the culprit
Screenshot of PresentMon output for Deadlock showing it running in Hardware Independent Flip mode with 0.99ms latency
Screenshot of PresentMon output for Deadlock showing it running in Composed Flip mode with 17.32ms latency
For instance, here's PresentMon output for Deadlock. First without the overlay, we get independent flip and minimal latency (0.99ms).
Then, if I enable the overlay and let it display something once, we get the second screenshot: composed flip (like a normal window, forced vsync), 17.32ms latency
I got suspicious when I saw that it said it *required* the borderless setting in order to work, and sure enough, it seems to simply be rendering another window over top of the game. If you do this, Windows will take the game off its normal fast rendering path (independent flip) => more frame latency

Photo of a very large blue door with many outlined squares on it, shot at night in the dim illumination of streetlights. Many signs are placed haphazardly on the door, stating things like "24 hr emergency", "warning", "danger", "caution", but with no reason given.
Photo of a 2 story home shot straight on at night. On the bottom floor, only the front door is lit, showing a patterned window on the door and a stained glass window with red flowers above. On the second floor, 2 windows are lit, one half-covered by a large plant. Only the lit areas are visible, the rest of the frame cloaked in deep blackness.

Chrome seems to implement vw/vh extremely literally from the spec, which defines them as e.g. "1vw = 1% of viewport width." Thus, they pre-divide them by 100, and for some values (such as 954px): 954 / 100 * 100 => 953.9999999. When this occurs, rem and mod by 2px can return 2px instead of the 0px they should. Other browsers (e.g. Firefox) don't seem to have this issue.
