I went back to find this post, because it was several years ago that I first experienced the supposed "new" evangelicals, and it was not a good experience.

I am disheartened they stayed on the same path and caused more harm.

If you think the way the most powerful men treat their partners and families isn’t important, you’ve already fallen for their manipulation. The violence at home is part and parcel of their abuse of power

How Progressives Froze the American Dream The U.S. was once the world’s most geographically mobile society. Now we’re stuck in placeβ€”and that’s a very big problem.

The Atlantic's latest cover story is out now and it is fascinating. @yappelbaum.bsky.social on why Americans stopped movingβ€”and why that's a much bigger deal than you might realize: www.theatlantic.com/magazine/arc...

Composure, Saints! This is a vital witness to our faith in Christ in any era of chaos.

Upon waking, let us meet with Jesus and trade our fear & anger for his courage & compassion.

Rely on God.
Read Scripture.
Be brave.
Pray valiantly.
Act like grownups.
Help the hurting.
Love defiantly.

Part of the issue is that those people don't believe the vaccine actually did anything to vaccinate against covid. They don't believe it was possible for someone to create a vaccine that quickly, and some don't believe vaccines are necessary. They probably think NIH is corrupt or some other nonsense

The lack of critical thinking in evangelical Christianity is increasingly startling. There are large pockets of people who have fused to a specific, cynical (nihilistic?) narrative and interpret everything through that lens.
Lord, have mercy.

Agreed. It is so utterly perplexing that this many people believe the conman is better to lead the country. Certainly racism and misogyny played a significant role in the outcome of the election. 2016 and 2024, especially 2024 because we KNEW who he was, dishearten me when I think about them.
