@mrjamesob.bsky.social cautions against 'treachery', as Sir Mark Rowley rubbishes Trump's claims about safety under Sadiq Khan last month.
It is very difficult to think of anything Trump has done this year that does not denigrate the USAβs staunchest allies and delight their once shared enemies, most obviously Vladimir Putin. And apart perhaps from Mark Carney, Western politicians are not rising to the unprecedented challenge he poses.

We've had several polls where we're in second place above Labour.
And today we found out we are closing in on overtaking Labours membership.
Then we're coming for Reform.

By appeasing the far right, you do not weaken it. You strengthen it.
While weakening your own position.
There's a vast amount of academic research showing this.
But Labour will not listen.

This is what happens when you normalise the right-wing agenda and obsessively promote Farage and his ilk in the national media on a daily basis.
But don't expect the BBC and others to acknowledge their role in any of this.

12.12.2025 11:49 β π 2 π 2 π¬ 0 π 0A couple of million people still get their morning news from R4 Today, where the editorial often follows whatever the Mail or Telegraph have their knickers in a twist about that day. And that then feeds as the news for all other BBC radio outlets.
31m people listen to BBC radio a week.
I think EAL (English as Additional Language) is a really misleading category. Schools use internal subcategories to grade fluency but it's all reported to the DfE as EAL.
That is what gets picked up on by the press and can then be used by Farage et al to stoke division.
Wish more people called Reform out for what they are. They donβt stand for ordinary people, they divide and rule. Their anti-establishment shtick is a lie, you donβt get more establishment than recycled, failed Tories. Their policies exist to protect privilege and scapegoat those who canβt fight back

12.12.2025 09:54 β π 29 π 4 π¬ 1 π 0Post from Keith Starmer Increasing defence spending will bolster our national security and help to put more money in people's pockets. By helping smaller businesses access this investment, we're opening up more opportunities for good, skilled jobs, making communities across the UK better off.
The only acceptable Keynesianism to the Labour right is military / weaponised Keynesianism. Impossible to harness state capacity for jobs & infrastructure in eg the NHS, council housing, social care or education. But loadsa cash to funnel to arms manufacturers to build munitions that'll gather dust
