I don't know how to function in a world that is so continuously cruel.

Where so many will celebrate this pointless, pointless harm. This will devastate a tiny minority. It will benefit no-one.

So many across our country will comply with this violence. So many others will stand silent.

I am beyond angry at the way trans children are being systematically persecuted.

The full power, violence and force of our state is smashing down onto them, making their life impossible.

Trans kids are already pushed out of education. Denied qualifications. Denied a future.

This will push so many more trans kids out of education entirely.

How can I send my own daughter to school with this law in place? She would not cope.

I am one of the most published academics on the childhood social transition, with 5 peer reviewed articles that relate to the topic.

There is so much evidence of benefit of social transition.

There is no evidence of harm. Not one jot.

This will literally kill trans kids. No exaggeration.

11 years ago after it closed down, we set up a campaign to reopen it!

I long ago got distracted but these legends (with others!) stuck it out for years. Delighted to say from next month our LGBT+ pub is back! 🎉

However the ‘men pretending to be women’ was offensive and unnecessary.

This surprised and shocked me from this contributer who I have followed with interest ..up until now.

Quite striking how the argument the Green Party have been making for some time now - and getting called all sorts of silly names for by the Labour Government - is the most popular position with the British public.

Funny the things you can just say when you've not been bought and paid for....

If Labour want to stop Reform and find common ground with the Greens they could start with introducing PR as their conference instructed.
And they could try governing in the interests of voters instead of donors, and then voters might get behind them.
