I finally snapped some photos of this simple quilt I have been making for a while. It was meant to be just a whatever, do it badly-project. Sometimes you need to finish something rather than overthink. It makes me happy to think these random fabrics will be useful now!

This weeks #showmeyourknits : scarves! I don’t knit lots of those anymore, but luckily I made this earlier this year, mostly just because of the interesting brioche pattern. It’s the #heartisaspadeshawl . A shawl can be a scarf sometimes, right?

Funny enough, when I was in the planning for my podcast, I kept getting advice to use AI for scripting, for graphics, for subject matter, whathaveyou. No thanks. I’d rather be my authentic weird self, and I’d rather consume real content from real people.

A finished #succulentshawl, blocked and all! This is the first xmas present for this year so I feel very good about having it ready so early. I have so many ideas for gifts I want to make this winter and I am very motivated to get it done. My friend who is getting this is not on this platform yet 😄

Finished this in june and gave it to my mother for her birthday. It was not the easiest thing I ever made, but it turned out very stunning, I think! Lovely use of #briocheknitting . The garter is sort of uneven, from all the dec./incs. but I feel the gray tweed yarn I used makes that more cohesive

Dandelion socks made with a dandelion mittens pattern from Ravelry. These colours I had leftover in Sterk yarn just had to be dandelions and I love the result. To show the pattern I put the socks flat on a stone in my yard.

Skognymfejakke! I collected alpaca yarn leftovers in all these pretty colours, green to blue, light to dark. I felt they had to be something special. I decided the shiny alpaca needed a matte background so I bought a black Pickles Pure Wool for that, which turned out perfect. One of the prettiest things I ever knitted. I am wearing a blue polkadot dress and the knitted cardigan, and posing by the sea in Lindøy, Norway

From when I dyed my hair red. This is the Dip Dye Sweater, using thin wool in lots of colours I had from other projects. I love warm yellow, but I don’t feel it suits me, so I wanted to put the yellow on the bottom and then go through the greens and to blue towards my face. Scrap projects are the theme for this weeks #showmeyourknits . I love collecting all my leftovers and putting them together in new ways. I can see all those old projects like memories in the new garment. Some of my best projects have been scrappy actually 😍

Knitting on my second #fieldcardigan these days. And harvesting some things from my garden. I have been laughing about this singular radish that I grew. I had been eating the sprouts and had forgotten them. And suddenly I had this volunteer ♥️😄 #knitting

Summer came and went here in western Norway 💖 some lovely things from my photos the last few weeks.

Other tips: keep needles and yarn together so its more obvious what it is. Remember to not bring scissors (i have lost a few to this mistake). And bring a tube to put your work on if you will need to give your needle away 🥲. Have a good trip!

I have been told many times that it will ultimately be up to the security people you meet to decide. If you are in a country (like Norway) where everybody recognizes a knitting needle, you will probably be able to keep it. Wood is safer to bring than metal.

Beautiful 🖤 details like this make homemade garments such favourites. Good idea about the jersey to cover seams.

This project was quite a journey, and I am glad I had the time to think in between each step. All those cool @wfmu.bsky.social designs are so fun to include. Boyfriend is always wearing 1. wfmu merch and 2. arctic merch from his jobs. So I hope I have made him one more favourite here.

#memademay2025 I spent the last days of May finishing the wool hoodie with some hand stitching. All done and given away today, just in time before boyfriend goes to the arctic again ♥️

A narrow band of yellow jersey fabric and an old ball of yarn. I am putting the yarn inside the folded band and making piping ribbon.

I have sandwiched the piping in between the green wool main fabric and the printed fabric, which is from an old t-shirt. In the process of making a hoodie.

#memademay2025 Day 28: making piping ribbon by folding this old acrylic yarn in a band of jersey I cut from one of the t-shirts. I got all these pieces topstitched on the main fabric tonight. Now to figure out where the applique goes.

I see now how this heart and the island shape sort of echo. Interesting! It also will say «Jim Price I love you» inside the hood. So I guess the theme overall is arctic island love 😅

#memademay2025 Day 27: getting som ironing and pinning done this evening. The 2 t-shirt prints in the photo have gotten #vlisofix on, so they will be appliquees. One step closer on my project.

Always good to have some distance from a project, step away to think and then go back. Why I could never be in any kind of quick sewing challenge. Having the time to think is one of my favourite things! I think the yellow strip will be a lovely detail to tie the pieces together.

#memademay2025 Day 25:
All the fabrics prewashed, so tonight I got started on cutting out all the pieces for the hoodie. I love having a bit of time for each step. I layed it out how it will go, and took photos, so now I can have a look at those until I have time for the next step.

Sergers make many people feel like that, which is why I had classes for years and years in the small town I live in. There are many small techincal things that needs to be right for it to sew correctly and it is not all very intuitive. So many people had not even taken it out of the box 😆

Ah, its always such a mystery how that can even happen, like it just de-threads! But I have seen it happen many times, yes. Check if your needles might need changing, if that thread is getting stuck somewhere or if you have the tension too high on that one. Sometimes some dust in the tension disks.

I have been through lots of changes and things I thought I would never like or use, I suddenly go looking for. But still, if you have too much, finding the good stuff gets too hard. I can not keep storing all of it, it feels out of hand right now. But my threads: not a tangled mess anymore ♥️

After making and collecting materials since I was a child, I feel I should have almost everything I need to make whatever. It feels both like a privilege and a burden. I do struggle to let go of things I might one day use, and that was expensive once. But I find finishing projects to be the best way

#memademay2025 Day 23: sorting my overlock thread. I used to hold serger classes so I have… too much. But I do love finding the perfect combo to add an extra detail right in the seam. #sergersewing #memademay

He has been collecting these shirts for years, so after he gave me the 66(!) he didn’t really wear anymore, he still has probably 40-50 in use 😅😲. I really love the weird and diverse designs. They really spark creativity! The heart with the hook and a spooky island/hand with knife were perfect!

Planning another gift! I wanted to use the polar bears and the seals, but they felt too cutesy for a grown man (boyfriend ♥️). Luckily his collection of outgrown @wfmu.bsky.social shirts is still here! I am meant to be making a quilt with them. But first, one more hoodie ♥️
