I had an absolutely amazing time at the Arizona Renaissance Festival and got to meet some fantastic folks, both new and familiar. Books, music, mead, and delightful company. What more can a wyrm ask for? 💖

Your original message was already suspicious, you couldn't give me any concrete details, a legitimate business would want a written licensing agreement before paying someone money, and "mobile check deposit" refers to a completely different financial process than what you're describing. Always be suspicious when someone offers to pay you money out of the blue. I'm guessing this is the same kind of scam where they actually will make it look like they're sending you the money — But wait! Oh no, they made a mistake and need you to send (all or some) of it back! (1/2)
