A world map with red and blue dots. Each dot denotes a water quality measurement station that is included in Caravan-Qual. Red dots are stations with additional streamflow observations. Blue dots are stations without streamflow observations.
Excited to unveil Caravan-Qual! ๐
We've expanded the Caravan framework to bridge the gap between water quantity and quality.
This new open dataset features: ๐น ~70M observations ๐น137k stations ๐น 100 constituents ๐น Linked streamflow, forcing & attributes

Integrating mobile CRNS soil-moisture data into the mHM model greatly boosts its ability to capture spatial and temporal moisture patterns. Forests remain challenging, but results show strong gains and good transferability for better hydrological forecasts.

Soil moisture shapes droughts, floods, and heat extremes, yet is hard to observe from space. Our new paper offers the first structured review of how AI is transforming soil moisture remote sensing, and where hybrid physics-AI approaches can take us next.

So, your forecasts are sharp and reliable, but are they valuable? Our new EMS paper on RUVPY is out - reference implementation of RUV. Honest assessment needs to be tailored to the specific decision. RUV is general enough to model almost any context. Go forth and tinker. doi.org/10.1016/j.en...
