Israel tried to pretend that the boats were aligned with Hamas and carrying weapons. What they actually carried was food, wheelchairs, toys, books, generators, surgical supplies, cement, and shoes.

Israel did not care that the crew of the vessel included prominent people like a former UN Assistant Secretary-General, and members of the European Parliament. They still shot to kill.
