Efter fem dagar i Sverige förra veckan har jag bestämt mig att jag vill flytta dit. Det var en dröm jag hade under hela mina tjugoårsåldern men jag hade givit upp, hade trott att jag var för gammal nu. Men fuck it. Ska jag kunna? Kanske. Hur? Ingen aning. 😅 Men jag vill det igen, och det är något.

Is it the same inversion of word order that’s still common in Norwegian and Icelandic, where the noun is given the definite suffix and then the possessive pronouns follows? 🤔 That was one of the things my Swedish teacher had to warn me off doing, because I’d studied Norwegian first 😅

One of my early conlang attempts got thrown in the bin for having too many diacritics. If I’d known this existed at the time perhaps I wouldn’t have been so hard on myself 🤣

I think that's what I liked about this the most, the informality of it. I mean, I wasn't even actively learning Czech at the time, it was just something I was interested in. It was more sort of... quantifying my curiosity than anything else.

I think that was the plan originally, but these certainly never made it that far. Now I’ve got my Notion together and I’ve found a format for vocabulary that works for me, I’ll probably digitise them there and then get rid of the photos 😊

I'm trying to use #langsky more, but I got rid of The Bad Place™️ completely. It was just bumming me out. But I feel like I don't have as much to say here as I did there, the community isn't really here yet. It feels a bit like shouting into the wind sometimes.

While doing a little spring cleaning, I found another pile of post-its covered in vocabulary from my office days. If I found an interesting word at work, I’d write it down. There’s all sorts in here;🇩🇪, lots of 🇨🇿, 🇱🇹, 🇪🇪, even a drizzle of 🇪🇸. I don’t do this so much any more, which is a shame. #langsky

Of course, you can’t say something is objectively ugly because it’s a matter of taste. And of course Esperanto has been very successful in what it was designed to do.

I just personally don’t like it. 😅 Do I think I could do any better? Absolutely not.

Like a lot of people have already said, French or German seem the logical choices - probably French, quite honestly.

But please, for the love of god, not Esperanto 😂 I'd be up for a constructed language that was more diverse, and even beautiful in its own right! In my opinion, Esperanto is neither.
