Very interesting, Afif. Do you have any thoughts about pretreatment base excess and PDA closure? Confounded by PDA severity or preventing constriction of duct?

Can't see the full text. Seems like a sensible idea. Did they talk about time to full oral feeds? Could two weeks more of CPAP delay feeding progression?

Haven't seen preterm babies w/ compensatory hypocarbia. Lots of metabolic acidosis w normal lactate + CO2. Interesting topic: clinical assessments often not sophisticated IMO -> unnecessary treatment. Agree re: monitoring for dehydration but hard to weigh accurately early. Does your unit use NIRS?
