My favorite indie bookshop in the Chicago area is Anderson's in Naperville. I'm certain they have gift cards. They also have a discount club. Regular members only sales. And you get a coupon on your birthday. Plus they have great signings all the time. I met a lot of authors there.

My first book, STRIP, was originally published by MUSA. That publisher also acquired the new Roger Rabbit book. I mention it now because there's a copyright tool authors should be aware of. I didn't know about it, myself. But Disney just lost Roger Rabbit because of it:
