Finally upgraded the home system to something that can run ollama fairly well. Unfortunately, I need to find a project that captures my interest. Still searching. I could always play with something using MCP, since it's a hot topic. I even wrote about it for work: developer.ibm.com/articles/awb...

We're at the point where I haven't had to intervene in an issue resolution in quite a while. Still need to solve overall integration testing, but I that doesn't worry me too much given what I'm seeing so far.

The resolve issue command reads the issue description and any comments, and starts resolving. I've got good linting and code checks set up, and claude creates tests for new components. There's a pre-commit hook which runs a bunch of lints, autofixes, etc. And there's a pre-push hook that runs tests.

if the resolution plan is big, or crosses too many technologies or files, we split the issue (automatically) and create appropriate child issues. I run plan against the child issues too. Sometimes they get split again. In the end, I have quite a few issues with good scope boundaries.

Then i have a couple of custom commands. Plan issue, resolve issue (I have a code review one but haven't really started using that yet). With plan issue, claude pulls the issue down and decides if we know everything we need to resolve it. If we don't, it spawns subagents to research.

shared context on tasks is all handled through github issues. I'll either create them or I'll ask claude to do it (claude's better at it). I have the gh command line tool installed for that.

YMMV of course, but what I do is have a relatively light claude.md with some imperative instructions to read relevant docs before starting any task. I link to a docs/ directory where I have project context, architecture, infrastructure, and development docs.

I've got a pretty fun workflow going with claude code atm for a toy project. I'm not really creating features, I'm just doing infrastructure stuff and backend goodies. It's really satisfying though.. Claude's my buddy.

I'm firmly in the no-hello camp. However I'm also (trying to be.. usually succeeding i think) in the don't-be-a-jerk camp. The non-nohello folks really just tempt me sooo much. Such a silly thing, but it really gets my goat.

I asked Jules to review the architecture of a little app I had Claude Code build. Jules only found a couple of minor things and created a branch for some of changes. I created a PR for it, and asked Copilot to review it. Copilot had some comments, which Jules then addressed. We're all still arguing.

You know what I really want? I want the Joo Janta 200 Super-Chromatic Peril Sensitive Sunglasses.. except instead of peril, I want them sensitive to shit that irritates me. Prescription drug advertisements, for example. Misrepresentations of reality done for political point-making. etc.

I'm even tired of it, and I just have to sit on my butt and watch. I think they need to do something to tighten it up. Start a little sooner, mid September. Two preseason games over a week. Make the cup end by end of May. Something.

WTF happened to people?

I mean, I'm proof that the above is a silly thing to worry about, because I maybe have a choice, and yet I'm stuck where they use Teams... But I've been where they used Google in the past, and oh how I miss it. There are so many little irritating things about Teams environments. Death by papercut.

Folks, if you have a choice (and I realize sometimes you just don't), when evaluating a new job find out if they use Google or MS Teams. And for quality of life and minimal frustration if they use Teams start asking some serious questions about how much you'll need to work within those systems.

I thought it might be just my account. I've been ignoring a lot of pleas to sign up and I've been muting a lot of people. Figured that put me into a bucket of "vanish this guy" or something. ;-)

Lately my development work has been all LLM driven. I don't really write much code. I read it, and say "Hey, that's .. what the hell were you thinking?" or "Heck yeah, nice job digital buddy"... I don't mind it much. I haven't had to type a lot, which is good.

The NHL needs to seriously consider enforcing some level of audio standards on its broadcast partners. These ESPN/TNT/TBS games all have messed up audio. No team in the race anymore and I'm close to tuning out because of it. It just sounds wrong.

Just crazy. Even if Faber made no contact it didn't look like enough to overturn. Feels like a panic move. Maybe they figured you never know what's going to get called, so roll the dice?
