Sex and nudity are bedfellows - the only time we generally see other people’s naked bodies are in sex scenes and sexualisation through suggestive nudity in adds.
The more we normalise nudity, we get to retrain people’s association.
Problem is, we can’t while they still have that association! 🥴

This shot was from a commercial shoot years ago for a spa that has those salt bath/sensory deprivation chambers. It seems that that place has since closed and I never thought of actually posting this one, but here it is, from the vault of my camera roll.

It increasingly happening in the UK, but I'm horrified at what's happening in the US. We've got married lesbian friends there who are scared for their future.

Indeed, for me it's much more than simply having no clothes on, and it's separate from sex - although the two are increasingly conflated.

I much prefer “naturism” as it lends to the idea of a spiritual enlightenment through our naked body and not so much about nudity.

Yesterday I went to meet a couple planning their clothes optional wedding. They were looking for someone to run the bar.

I turned up naked thinking it would be all good under the circumstances. I didn’t expect it to be an interview involving 3 other people 🫣

This is just my opinion, but I see nudists as people who enjoy being naked for whatever reason, whereas naturists have a more holistic philosophy about respect for the environment, where nudity is just one aspect.

I'm kneeling in a small creek under a mossy log. White fabric is looped over the log and drifts in the creek around me. Many photographers use this type of translucent fabric on windy days - I decided to try using water instead of air to make the fabric dance.

5 years ago there’s no way in my wildest dreams I could have imagined the confidence I’ve gained through nudism. Meeting up at a beach with 20 other naked people? Sharing nude photos online? Organising nudist retreats?.. Crazy! Terrifying!😱
Now it feels so easy and natural 😀
