Museum photo of a deep red cloak, made in wool (I think). It has a close fitting hood with a peak extending slightly forward of the forehead. The cloak is cut with a gentle flare outwards from teh shoulders, to about knee height. It is buttoned down the middle, though the buttons are not visible in this image. It has a built in shoulder capelet, wrapping around both shoulders, slightly open at the front, with sharp lapels at the mid-chest.

Rear view of the cloak from image 1. The back of the main body of the cloak has pleasing folds in the fabric. The shoulder cape is round cut at the back, extending to the mid of the upper back. The fabric of the hood is pinched towards a central point at the back of the skull, resulting a series of folds in the fabric.

I thought the cape the other day was amazing, but this cloak is on another level. I have never wanted an excuse to go visit a woodland-resident grandma more than I do right now.

Strongly empathise with this last point. Its very hard to keep going with this kind of thing. I really hope you find something that works for you dude, though I suppose we both know that real opportunities are few and far between.

And the project I've done on my own time - running a meditation group for hundreds of people over 6 years, to address the massive stress in health service workers - might disappear due to the closure of my part of the organisation. Trying to figure out how to keep it going for everyone. Exhausting.

Been refreshing this thread the last 30 minutes to see where it goes. We don't know each other but you seem like a good dude with good values. I can empathise with where you are. The potential benefit of my work (health service) might also vanish due to govt decisions.

Just realised I effectively do this, but not outdoors. I spent a Summer in an ashram many years ago and got used to wearing a carefully wrapped blanket as an outer robe to keep off the cold. Still do it, but only in the comfort of my own (very cold) home ๐Ÿ˜„

2XKO - Caitlyn and Teemo - Silver rank up
YouTube video by Votes4cows 2XKO - Caitlyn and Teemo - Silver rank up

Been playing a week and my opinion on 2XKO has flipped. Still an awful lot of annoying stuff wrapped around the core game, but the gameplay is so much fun, and really allows a lot of expression. I remain rubbish at it though.

Museum photo of a red wool and silk cape.
The cape has sort of a Peter Pan collar. The cape fastens at the neck, and the right side hangs over the left. It has a beautiful shallow curve running from the waist to the thigh. The fabric is (I think) red wool, with a lot of intricate black silk embroidery throughout.

Perhaps it is time to bring back capes. Evidence attached.

Why Iโ€™m launching a feminist video games website in 2026 Iโ€™ve been a games journalist since 2007, but still there isnโ€™t much video games coverage that feels like itโ€™s specifically for people like me. So Iโ€™m creating a home for it: Mothership

This is really great - we need much more of this. Maddy Myers' (@midimyers.com) writing is always good, and the rest of the team looks amazing too. Actually link to the website is morthership.blog

Museum photo of a full-length, red outdoor coat, primarily in dense wool knit. It has large brass buttons all the way down the front, a high circular collar at the neck, and a form-fitting narrow waist. The sleeves have three cream colour stripes running around the wrists, and the hem of the skirt has four of these strips (between knee and ankle). The left arm has a few badges at the shoulder.

Imagine this vibrant red against a field of snow? That must have looked so striking! The colour and fabric give such a warm vibe too. And check out the cute bobble on the hood ๐Ÿฅฐ

UK loses WHO status as measles-free after rise in deaths and fall in jab uptake UN health body says Britain is one of six countries in Europe and central Asia where disease has become re-established

Wakefield and every charlatan that followed him have so much blood on their hands. I work in public health and this stuff is just so depressing.

Yeah same, and I had a few matches where I really expected some salt (e.g. a win where I kept them out with only Caitlyn's S1 rifle fire - no rematch). But nope, people just went on with their day.
Now if they could just fix the PS5 port I'd be pretty happy...

Museum photo of a full length, brown cotton dress. The fabric is a light brown with red and blue detailing (similar to paisley, but sparser). The skirt has many folds, mostly flowing from the left hip around the garment. The bodice is open down the front, with a tan coloured seam and collar (repeated at the sleeve cuffs), and a white high necked blouse underneath.

Walking dress, France, 1885

This is nice. The fabric (cotton) looks comfortable. Less so the massive bustle! Really elegant cut, especially the open front and the exposed blouse.

โ€˜Target mainlandโ€™: planned Troubles board game condemned in Northern Ireland By turning conflict into entertainment US games company is ignoring its living legacy, says victims rightsโ€™ group

This is grotesque. But this company has a history of making games out of recent violence. They claim its necessary education to prevent things being forgotten - whether they're liars or just stupid, I don't know.

Its a symptom of wider social behaviour too. The "it was hard for me, so now I'll brutalise my students in turn" vibe you see in gymnastics, ballet, academia, etc. Means we should be setting a better example though.

Kind of opposite trajectory, same endpoint. I was never too into SNK games, but literally everything about COTW was what I wanted from a game. And then the last year happened!
