A really beautiful dress. I love the contrast of the pale green (?) fabric and the gold floral details. And the fit of the bodice (photo 2) looks like exceptional construction.

Working in the NHS at the moment is not great, and they just keep adding new, awful things to the mix. E.g. we are now getting anti-strike propaganda from the Minister published on the home-page of our intranet.

Yeah, though I assume (or hope) that his inclusion was actually imposed on them by their owners. But even so, that leaves any person of conscience with no choice but to avoid this game.
I wonder if we'll hear any inside stories about how it went down, in ten or twenty years.

Image 1. Mannequin wearing a full length red woolen cape with hood. The hood has been created extremely large at the rear to accommodate a headpiece or coiffured hair maybe. Its accompanied by (or made with) a matching red buttoned vest. The cape is completed by a small collar to the shoulders.

Its #EVO2025 weekend, so what better way to celebrate fighting games than with a beautiful cape that reminds me of BB Hood from #Darkstalkers.

The fabric and colour are lovely, and the matching vest is a nice touch.

The dress is full length. with a square neckline, elbow length sleeves, and a rear composed of voluminous folds extending into a slight train. The entire front of the dress has a lot of additional detailing (ruffles and other details that I don't have the terminology to describe), while the back is unadorned. The ends of the sleeves have both lace ruffles and ruffles in the same material as the dress.

The colour!! Its so vibrant, I'd love to see it in person. The detailing on the chest is really pretty, while the impression from behind (with the panniers and train/pleats) is quite imposing. Amazing dress.

Two riding coats are shown in this picture. Left - a Brown short riding coat, viewed from the side. It has a large collar, rounded buttons on the right lapel (possibly brass), and a short skirt that would probably just cover the hips when seated. It has oversized cuffs on the sleeves, turned back to show the white lining. Right - a similar garment in blue. This one has no collar, and the buttons are the same colour as the main fabric. The cuffs on this garment are narrow.

The brown coat is really fabulous - the cut is so sharp, and all the little details really make it stand out. The neat collar, oversized cuffs, shiny buttons... Looks uncomfortable, but a lovely piece.

I've never been, but this is 100% my favourite thing in LACMA's online collection. Its just incredible - the lines, the colours. Really love it.

The hips are quite wide, and the sleeves are elbow length with very wide hanging cuffs. The outer layer of the top is open at the front, tied over an inner layer with two broad white ribbons.

Check this out. The dress is made of silk quilting, which makes a lot of sense for Winters in France back then. Despite the bulkiness it still looks super elegant, especially with the ties at the front.

Quite. Those making the decision "work" in a comfortable office and have no idea of the effect of working in other environments on the body. Even with work that can be done the brain is no longer operating at its previous levels and costly even life threatening mistakes will be made.

A photograph of a mannequin wearing a full-length 18th century dress. The dress is dark navy with white floral embroidery throughout. It has false hips built in, extending about 6 inches to each side, and is accessorised with a white lace scarf (this may actually be a lapel, I can't tell).

This is nice. I really like the floral detailing (click on the image to expand it). The false hips/panniers don't look great to me, but were a big trend for a long time (& there are much wider examples during this period too).
