I feel like we don’t say β€œfuck Ronald Reagan” enough.

Just a little light reading before work.

A picture of two older men (Alex Winters and Keanu Reeves) dressed in casual suits and bowler hats, standing on a stage with a stark black background. The scene is a still from Winters and Reeves’ performance of Waiting for Godot, a play by Samuel Beckett.

Further upstage, behind Winters and Reeves, is a prone man dressed similarly to the two men, wearing sunglasses. He is not dead, but has fallen down and is helpless to get up, like a blind turtle.

Me, alone in the office, waiting for the maintenance workers to come fix a broken light.

The non-rail transit infrastructure is also king.

I lived in the β€œinaka” (countryside) in the Kanto region for three years. The town I worked in didn’t have a train station. But there were several bus lines that passed through that made commuting really convenient.

Or don't. I'm not your mom.

Definitely agree with Grady Hendrix and Stephen Graham Jones. I’m also a fan of Rachel Harrison and Cassandra Khaw.

I love nibbling on those little bastards like I’m a field mouse in their den, developing a fat layer to keep me warm come winter.

Also worth noting that before the start of this week, I had seen precisely ZERO crucified Sonic the Hedgehog tattoos.

If I had a nickel for every time I’ve seen a crucified Sonic the Hedgehog tattoo, I’d have two nickels.

Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it’s weird that it happened twice.

I agree with your basic premise.

Personally, I would prefer a vast network of social services that allow us to live independently outside of an institution. But I don’t think society is at a point where that’s feasible, even if funded by the ultra-wealthy. There’s too much rot to cut away.

Because he wasn’t mentally ill. He was a mentally sound individual who was well aware of the effect his words had on the world, and he was fine with it. He took advantage of his platform at every given opportunity.

This is why I refuse to be friends with conservatives. Why I refuse to give any of these people the benefit of the doubt.

I refuse to be complicit in my own annihilation, and in the annihilation of innocent people.

And I refuse to be made to feel guilty for celebrating the death of their ranks.

I sincerely hope your smug self-satisfaction keeps you safe from the grim reality of what is to come.

β€œThere is no place for political violence in this country” say the politicians using legislation and rhetoric to attack trans people, immigrants, women and BIPOC daily. Just because it’s done with a pen and not a gun doesn’t mean it’s not political violence. Hypocrites. Not that they care.

He fomented political violence on the daily for over a decade, and even celebrated the deaths of those killed by it.

I’m allowed to laugh at the irony of him getting shot at yet another event where he works to foment political violence. That is deeply funny to me.

That’s what restorative justice is supposed to do, though. That’s what the criminal justice system should be doing.

His body was never recovered, though several attempts were made.
