I'm running for governor of Texas to refocus our government on issues that matter to regular folks, to fully fund public education, to save rural hospitals, to expand Medicaid. Join the fight at coleforgovernor.com!
02.09.2025 20:09 โ ๐ 256 ๐ 35 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 413/ Tagging our allies so this call carries further:
@EqualityTexas @ACLUTx @transED @HRC @LambdaLegal @GLAAD @TrevorProject @PPGreaterTX @TxFreedomCaucus @EqualityTexas

06.09.2025 15:01 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 011/ We will not be silenced. We will not be invisible. Pride is protest. Our history, our identities, & our futures depend on resistance, compassion, & resilience. ๐โ
06.09.2025 15:00 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 010/ โข Mobilize the vote: Register, recruit, & vote out hate.
โข Show up visibly: Pride, schools, workplacesโpresence is power.
โข Protect youth: volunteer, donate, uplift.
9/ โข Organize & amplify: Support Equality Texas, ACLU of Texas, TENT.
โข Hold lawmakers accountable at town halls & in the press.
โข Fund lawsuits to block these laws.
8/ But our voices are louder. Our movement is stronger. And we have a plan. Hereโs how we fight back:
06.09.2025 14:59 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 07/ These bills arenโt just policy. They are acts of erasure. They endanger dignity, safety, & lives. They represent state-sanctioned cruelty.
06.09.2025 14:59 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 06/ HB 1106 says refusing to affirm your childโs gender identity is not abuse. This legalizes harm in the name of โfamily values.โ
06.09.2025 14:58 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 05/ SB 8, the so-called โbathroom bill,โ bans trans people from facilities matching their gender. Schools, shelters, prisonsโ$25kโ$125k fines enforce this cruelty.
06.09.2025 14:58 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 04/ HB 229 defines โsexโ on official documents only by reproductive capacity. It erases gender identity, harms intersex Texans, & denies lived realities.
06.09.2025 14:58 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 03/ But in Texas today, hard-won progress is under attack. The Legislature has passed cruel, targeted laws aimed at erasing LGBTQ+ people. Hereโs what we face: ๐งต
06.09.2025 14:57 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 02/ Those marches sparked changeโanti-discrimination protections, access to healthcare, marriage equality, & a culture that finally began to see us. Collective action works.
06.09.2025 14:56 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 01/ ๐ Pride is more than a parade. Itโs protest. It began in 1969 at Stonewall when queer & trans people resisted police violence. One year later, they marched for rights & visibility. โ #Pride
06.09.2025 14:55 โ ๐ 11 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 07/ History shows what happens when vaccines are embraced, and when theyโre abandoned. We canโt afford to go backward.
05.09.2025 11:55 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 06/ Public health should be guided by science & compassion, not politics. Vaccines protect all of us, especially the most vulnerable.
05.09.2025 11:55 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 05/ ๐ฌ mRNA research is especially promising. It can fight COVID, flu, RSV, HIV & even cancer. ๐งฌ Cutting it now means walking away from life-saving breakthroughs.
05.09.2025 11:54 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 04/ These moves erode trust, weaken pandemic readiness, & threaten decades of progress. They turn back the clock to a time when outbreaks killed thousands.
05.09.2025 11:53 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 03/ ๐ถ๐คฐ He also rolled back COVID vaccine recommendations for kids & pregnant women. During the measles outbreak, he downplayed the crisisโeven as unvaccinated children filled hospitals ๐ฅ โฆ and one child died.
05.09.2025 11:52 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 02/ โ ๏ธ Thatโs why RFK Jr.โs recent policy changes are so dangerous. He disbanded the CDCโs vaccine advisory board & cut $500M from mRNA research. ๐ซ๐ฌ
05.09.2025 11:52 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 01/ ๐ Vaccines are one of humanityโs greatest triumphs. They eradicated smallpox, nearly ended polio & slashed measles deaths by 80% worldwide. They save lives. Full stop. ๐โจ

Q5 โ Local Control
๐ Yes. From Swiss cantons to the American Revolution, liberty thrives when locals govern themselves. Austinโs โDeath Star Billโ & SB 2038 strip our rights. Iโll fight for San Marcosโ freedom to choose our future. โ
Q4 โ Lobbying Ordinance
๐ฐ Yes. Lobbying is ancientโbut it must be transparent. Cities like Austin already require registration. San Marcos deserves the same, so influence isnโt hidden & everyday voices arenโt drowned out by money. ๐
Q3 โ Ethics Commission
๐ Yes. Ethics rulings should be public. Sunlight builds trust & accountability. Other cities already do this. Publish with contextโminor mistakes need not be sensationalized, but violations must be visible. ๐ข
Q2 โ Town Halls
๐๏ธ Yes. 3 minutes at Council isnโt enough. Town Halls give neighbors real dialogue with leaders. Access + conversation = stronger democracy. If we want trust, we must show up & listen. ๐ฃ๏ธ
Q1 โ Draft Agendas
๐ Yes. San Marcans need more than 72 hrs notice. Posting draft agendas early (tagged โsubject to changeโ) gives neighbors time to engage. Transparency isnโt riskyโitโs democracy working. ๐
๐ณ๏ธ Transparency builds trust. San Marcos deserves leaders who open doors, not close them. Hereโs where I stand on the Civics Clubโs top 5 questions about access, ethics & local control: ๐
31.08.2025 15:26 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I just went on Fox News to tell the truth about the redistricting power grab in Texas.
I asked a simple question: โIf Republican policies are so popular, why do they need to redraw these maps; why not run on their policies?โ
