I expect that as well. It's not of any moral opposition to Ellison. I hate to say it, but Ellison made a point of saying how Zaslav was happy that Trump would allow more mergers. But Zaslav would want WB to be a buyer, not the hot potato that keeps getting bought up.

Jeffries was asked point blank about how talking to Mamdani and what is left unsaid between them. Jeffries's only response is that he just complained about Mamdani about other people.

Well, not exactly mincing words about how evasive and cowardly Jeffries is.

Not even answering the actual question. Just dangling his vote for Mamdani out there like a carrot, and teasing that Mamdani is taking a "step" towards earning the carrot.

I also like the idea that he went to the mercantile city-state to make his way as an artisan.

Which gets funnier to pair with the Gladiator/Paladin question. Was his plan to just make money, and his options were to work as both an artisan and a gladiator and see how that would turn out?

Two options come to mind.

Either the character has my motivation. "I want to be a Paladin, but I have to become a Gladiator first as a means to that end."

Alternatively, what if he only looked as far as becoming a Gladiator, but that path led him to become a Paladin?

The game plays off of job promotions from FF1. You don't start as a Paladin. You have to be a Gladiator first, then promote to Paladin once you're level 30 and pass a certain point in the story.

So, how do I turn that into a character motivation?

Working out the headcanon for my FF14 character is fascinating for trying to contextualize what I do in game as something that a character in a story would have as motivation, like in a TTRPG.

Good to hear! I hear Williamson's run is good, and I'm sure it'd be satisfying. I just have so much on my plate that I think I can afford to skip out on it.

And this is Doomsday explicitly being MORE powerful, despite not being as bulky, so I get not wanting to risk a fight. Especially when Doomsday is in the mood of NOT wanting to kill them all.
