I really enjoyed writing this comment on what we need to do to drive circularity for perovskite solar cells with the very knowledgeable @mldavies04.bsky.social

I realise that I haven't posted in a long time as I have been busy teaching a new energy materials course and applying for grants. Now exhausted and looking forward to the end of term!

A screenshot of a news article from The Guardian with the headline: β€œLegal challenges to infrastructure plans to be blocked in Starmer growth push.” The subheading states that the Prime Minister hopes his plan to β€˜take the brakes off Britain’ will encourage businesses to build more. Below the text is an aerial image of Heathrow Airport, showing multiple airplanes taxiing on runways and parked at gates. A caption notes cabinet-level resistance within the Labour Party to plans for a third runway at Heathrow. The source is credited as The Guardian in the bottom right corner.

Keir Starmer, your government promised bold action on climate and nature - but this isn’t it. ❌

It’s a move that risks tearing up our chances for a future where nature, people, and the economy thrive.

Predicting Long-Term Stability from Short-Term Measurement: Insights from Modeling Degradation in Perovskite Solar Cells during Voltage Scans and Impedance Spectroscopy A drift-diffusion model is used to investigate the effect of device degradation on current–voltage and impedance measurements of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Modifications are made to the open-source drift-diffusion software IonMonger to model degradation via an increasing recombination rate during the course of characterization experiments. Impedance spectroscopy is shown to be a significantly more sensitive measure of degradation than current–voltage curves, reliably detecting a power conversion efficiency drop of as little as 0.06% over a 4 h measurement. Furthermore, we find that fast degradation occurring during impedance spectroscopy can induce loops lying above the axis in the Nyquist plot, the first time this experimentally observed phenomenon has been replicated in a physics-based model.

A new collaborative paper with Will Clark and Giles Richardson. We think that short term impedance measurements may be a powerful tool to predict the long term stability of perovskite solar cells pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/...
