Thrilled to share this work, spearheaded by the Danc lab (led by James Bonaiuto) @danclab.bsky.social, in collaboration with us, especially Matteo Maspoli @mattgmasp.bsky.social and Danila Shelepenkov @shpen.bsky.social, and other groups who share the belief that MEG still has untapped potential!

I'm looking back at this paper written 2019 & published 2021 with @andreaeyleen.bsky.social: How Computational Modeling Can Force Theory Building in Psychological Science (pdf: oliviaguest.com/doc/guest_ma...) We presented a positive view and kind, if I do say so myself, compatibilist stance. 1/

10.10.2025 10:30 β π 7 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's just a way to split bursts into groups based on their waveform similarity along that PCA dimension. It's not the best way, and there may not be discrete groups - more of a continuum, but it useful. We're always looking for better ways to do it.
30.09.2025 10:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Good point, but in this case it wouldn't be so informative because we lack temporal dynamics in this task. Beta power is lower than baseline when performing actions. The cool stuff is in the waveform-specific burst rates
