My polling place has to take back the pens because there was higher turnout than expected and they're running low. Great for democracy, absolutely terrible for my beloved collection of nyc voting pens that double as a stylus

(the time might be a little off; we're normally preparing these for The Extended Family and making them in a casserole dish roughly the size of a farmhouse sink, whereupon they bake for hooooouuuurrrrrs before having about fifteen or twenty minutes to crisp on top. But I think 45 should do it?)

Rinse well, pat dry. Place in 9x13 casserole dish, salting and peppering every inch thick or so. (Can add other herbs/spices if you like, we're autists and like bland ;) Pour cream till it covers the potatoes. Bake under foil 45 min; uncovered 15.
