How do you design an innovative app?
I get that patterns are useful and users are familiar with them, but arenโt we building the same digital products over and over again? ๐ญ

Life is about spending your time on things that fulfil you - sometimes, hard work is part of that fulfilment.
๐ญ Whatโs one thing youโd keep doing even if it was hard, just because you loved it?

Took my rusty old film camera for a walk today. I havenโt taken photos in a very long time and I kind of missed it.
Itโs nice to change perspectives once in a while!
Seems like an interesting read, will add it on my list ๐
21.02.2025 13:25 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Soโฆ they want free expression while undermining social categories, races and genders. Amazing ๐
I just hope that people who decided the future of the world with their vote to see the impact this decision is having on everyone.
Can anyone confirm this?
I'm taking into consideration to delete my accounts. This is unbelievable.

Indeedโฆ too bad we forget that we hold the power.

20.02.2025 14:27 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Placeholder text should never replace labels.
Some designers think placeholders keep forms clean, but they disappear when typing, making it harder for users to recall what they were filling in.

Weโre not taught how to express our creativity. Actually, we learn as we grow that we should hide, that art isnโt something that anyone can practiceโฆ thatโs a lie. Art can be anything. And we should all express our thoughts more often through shapes and words.
I did this during my lunch break.
Oh yes... don't get me started on public transportation ๐ I guess we should travel specifically for inspiration then, finding places that offer more cohesive visuals.
19.02.2025 06:45 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0In my case, I live in a post-communist country. The capital, Bucharest, suffered a wave of globalisation and capitalism, leading to a clash of old and new architectural styles. Therefore, nothing's consistent anymore. It's a chaotic urban landscape that doesn't inspire me at all ๐ซ
18.02.2025 11:39 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I completely agree. I noticed this especially with the UX/UI content that I found on socials. Most of the posts look the name and they're delivering the same content over and over again.
18.02.2025 11:26 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Hi, I'm Delia. A UX/UI Designer based in Romania. I started to post some stuff on my bsky profile, some quick visuals of my ideas if you want to check them out. Never been on Twitter so I'm completely new to this ๐
18.02.2025 11:23 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0How does the city you live in impact your design decisions? I'm asking because I've noticed how much the things around me influence my visual perceptions. I am affected by everything I see and consume. Is this something you consider when choosing where to live?

Hobbies are born out of nowhere. You sit there one day and you realise that you're bored. The next thought that comes to mind is 'Maybe I should do something exciting' and that's how you pick up a hobby. You listen to your inner thoughts. It's a discovery process that gives you meaning.
17.02.2025 07:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Bucharestโs metro just redesigned their maps - and not in a good way.
They added black shadows to station names, making them hard to read, and shrank the text without adding any useful info.
Aesthetics shouldnโt come at the cost of functionality! ๐คฆโโ๏ธ

I was thinking of a way to capture the most essential and simple UX/UI fixes for better designs and I narrowed it down to:
- establish visual hierarchy
- highlight the action
- use enough whitespace

Good luck with your knitting project ๐ I started crocheting myself and I love it - looking forward to seeing your final result!
11.02.2025 16:43 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Totally agree! I also think the grid layout helps with this issue for an easy scan of the page ๐

I agree, it works on Pinterest but I canโt help but notice some downsides there as well, such as: finding previously viewed content can be difficult, it leads to fatigue after long periods of time and it can affect the performance of the device ๐ค

This book covers the topic pretty good. I found it fascinating and it explains thoroughly how this behaviour is still present in our society. Women are still referred to as witches and quote โchildless cat ladiesโโฆ
11.02.2025 08:47 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I've been debating with someone if the infinite scroll is a dark UX pattern or not.
Pros:
- enhances the UX (social feeds)
- great for mobile
- can be user-friendly
Cons:
- loss of control
- navigation issues
- exploits cognitive biases
What are your thoughts on this?

I've been thinking a lot about accessibility latelyโespecially how often it gets overlooked in our society. Itโs frustrating because, with the resources and technology we have today, inclusion should be the norm, not an afterthought.

One thing I remind myself every day is that being a Product Designer doesnโt mean limiting inspiration to just the design world. In fact, itโs essential to seek inspiration from everyday experiences and explore ideas from other fields. The most innovative designs often come from unexpected places!
09.02.2025 16:06 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Iโm pretty sure we can develop a CAPTCHA to screen out the broligarchy. You know, like a simple ethics test.
06.02.2025 22:31 โ ๐ 745 ๐ 50 ๐ฌ 28 ๐ 6Thatโs so nice to hear. I have worked in both start-up and enterprise environments and I canโt say Iโve seen in any a big (if any) focus on research.

I totally agree, in my experience so far Iโve encountered little encouragement towards research practices from the product teams and I think itโs a shame. And yes the AI doesnโt help this eitherโฆ
