Poem titled "Into the Unknown" by Michael Goldense. It's a quirky ritual, reading about existence and death before bed. I settle my mind with this unsettling uncertainty: what happens to us when we die? These books offer guesses dressed as wisdom as I lie next to you. My leg pressed up against yours. My skin touching your skin. We are in the only moment we know exists-- now. The dread decouples from the existential. I begin to fall asleep, smiling into the unknown.
